Dhokha is a Bollywood film starring Muzammil Ibrahim and Tulip Joshi in the lead roles. It is directed by Pooja Bhatt and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. The film revolves around a moderate Indian Muslim cop, who wakes up and to his horror, discovers that his wife, who had recently been killed in a bomb blast, is accused of being a perpetrator as opposed to a victim of that very crime. The movie tackles a serious issue that plagues our world. Dhokha brings to light the issue of terrorism that threatens life day and night and portrays the mindset of people who get influenced and involved in the criminal and cruel act.

Zaid Ahmed (Muzamil Ibrahim) is a dedicated Police officer in Mumbai known for his integrity. He was respected and looked upon high by his colleagues and community. He and his wife Sarah (Tulip Joshi) had idyllic life together and everything seemed and worked just perfect for the couple.Zaid was always under the impression that his relationship with his wife was crystal clear and believed that there was nothing unknown about each other. But one fateful day proved it all wrong.
A massive bomb blast in New Century Club, Mumbai that claimed a number of lives shattered not just his life but his belief too.His wife Sarah’s body was also found among the dead.To add to his grief and pain, the police officer (Gulshan Grover) revealed that his wife had injuries that were typical to those of fundamental suicide bombers and that she was responsible for the catastrophic bombing.Zaid was torn between his past beautiful memories with his wife and this glaring truth about his wife.He was terrified to his soul because of this deadly betrayal. What will it be like when you realize that the one whom you share your life with and claim to know very well has a secret identity?Dhokha speaks for no religion. For,terrorism has its own religion. It criticizes terrorism and the people who spread terror in the name of religion.Dhokha hits you right and clearly convey as to how people get influenced and turn into jehadis.Pooja Bhatt excels as a director. She has handled the issue with utmost maturity and precision. A lot of scenes are executed with confidence that they leave a strong impact on our minds. Like the one when Zaid watches the video where his wife’s holds herself responsible for the blast. Screenplay and dialogue by Shagufta Rafique is first-rate and is influential. Cinematography is excellent.Muzamil Ibrahim makes a great start. The debutant doesn’t let you down a bit. He delivers a terrific performance and leaves you stunning.Tulip Joshi is equally competent and her performance is commendable. Her expressions are just right and very convincing.Ashutosh Rana is ominous;effective performance delivered. Aushima Sawhney lends a good supporting hand. Anupam Kher is outstanding and carries his role with ease and consistency.Gulshan Grover’s performance is very good.Overall, Dhokha is one of the finest and powerful product of the Bhatt’s stable. For entertainment seekers this would be a disappointment. But for those who like to have a taste of reality, this one’s the right choice.Don’t miss it.
