Some Mirrors Lie. And some titillate. And if Neha Dhupia takes the spotlight, playing the twin roles of sisters in love and lust with one hero – titillation is guaranteed. This assured, you sit through the movie as director Ashu Trikha builds up his story which he cleverly punctuates with stinted doses of skin show in the first half before letting the floodgates open in the second half.
Sheesha tells the story of Sia (Neha Dhupia) a budding fashion designer who finds a friend and a life partner in Raj (Sonu Sood) who works for a Channel in Thailand. Raj uses his good links to help Sia’s fashion brand ‘Shades’ get international recognition.
All looks hunky-dory until Sia’s twin sister Ria (Neha again) gets madly obsessed with Raj. Ria is almost the mirror image of her sister, but she suffers from a disorder due to which she cannot speak or hear. But be cautious, coz some mirrors lie.Sia goes out of country for an international assignment, leaving Raj to take care of her deaf-mute sister. Thereafter, begins Ria’s seduction game and also ample skin show for the audience.Neha Dhupia looks very natural in intimate scenes with newcomer Sonu Sood, who somehow manages to stay under his skin.Another good thing about Dhupia is that her exposure doesn’t look vulgar. She has an excellent body, and a very natural sex appeal. However, she is not able to bring characteristic subtleties into her twin role. Ashu Trikha is a promising director who has fairly good command over his craft, but not an eye for good script. Sheesha becomes too predictable in the second half and even drags before its denouement.Songs in the film are mere fillers. But then, who is complaining, if the Dhupia girl is in her element.
